A follow-up sequence is a series of timed SMS messages sent automatically after the initial conversation, if the lead does not convert to a booked job or confirmed enquiry.

You set the content and the timing for each step. TextBack Pro handles the sending automatically. If a lead who texted back on Monday has not replied or booked by Tuesday afternoon, the first follow-up goes out without any action from you.

When the lead replies at any point, the sequence stops and you are notified. No spam, no repeated messages to someone who has already been in touch.

How it works

The follow-up runs while you are on site

A lead completes the initial SMS conversation but does not book

The caller replied to your initial SMS and shared their details, but did not confirm a booking or a callback time. TextBack Pro recognises this and starts the follow-up timer.

Follow-up 1 is sent at your configured interval

At the time you set, such as 2 hours or 24 hours after the initial exchange, the first follow-up SMS goes out automatically. You write the message and set the timing from your dashboard.

Follow-ups 2 and 3 continue if there is no response

If the lead still has not replied, the second and third follow-up messages go out at the intervals you configured. The sequence stops the moment the lead responds or books.

Follow-up sequences: your questions answered

TextBack Pro supports up to three follow-up messages per lead on the Pro and Scale plans. This gives you an initial SMS, a first follow-up, a second follow-up and a third follow-up, a four-touch sequence in total.

You set the timing for each follow-up from your dashboard settings. You choose the delay in hours or days after the previous message. You can update these settings at any time and the changes apply immediately to all future sequences.

When a lead replies at any point, all remaining scheduled follow-ups are cancelled immediately. TextBack Pro then continues the conversation as a normal two-way exchange, and you are notified that the lead has re-engaged.

Follow-up SMS messages count towards your monthly SMS allowance. Pro plan includes 500 lead interactions per month. Scale plan is unlimited. Each follow-up message counts as one SMS in your allowance.
